Simon and Vya - Recruitment

Glarb, the art and dialogue for this is such ass. I drew it late at night, right after the other one, but I like the idea of it, so I'm posting it anyway. Often whenever I draw out scenes like this, it's sort of like writing a note to myself, it's all the parts of a scene that are occurring to me in the moment that I'm getting down as fast as I can, so that if I do get around to making a real scene out of it in a fully fleshed-out comic, I won't forget about it and I've already got a rough draft I can work off of.

So I guess this would be basically how Vya and Stepan met? I love how Vya is perched on his shoulder like a parrot, and I like to think that he just suddenly dropped down from a fire escape or something and landed there and just started talking to him, haha. Vya watched him for a while and sort of knew who he was and saw glimpses his family life, but never talked to him, until one day he decided to. Also, I don't know if it's obvious that I don't smoke, but I don't smoke. I hate it, I even hate being around it, it smells bad and the smoke messes with my asthma. But DAMN do I love drawing it! It's so much fun, it opens up a whole lot of hand acting that otherwise isn't available, and drawing smoke is just fun! (though I often don't manage to do it quite how I'd like it)
