Princess AU - Friends

I don't think I'm gonna manage to get this any better... I still have some trouble with coloring backgrounds and keeping the focus on the characters. But this was good practice in drawing detailed backgrounds anyway. I thought I was gonna die on the little village till I realized I only had to draw three houses and copy/paste them and change the details. (my modeling professor would be proud).

This is from before Nora disguised herself as her brother to be a knight. It is so very weird to draw Nora with long hair. But I think her mother would have made her grow it long and wear a dress so she could be a "proper" lady, even though if she'd had her way Nora would have chopped it off with a rusty knife a long time ago, and often stole her brother's pants so she could run without being held back by skirts.

Nora, Norman, and Morris all grew up together in a smallish village about a two weeks journey from the castle. The three of them were inseparable, even though Norman and Nora were the children of a retired knight (and so were minor nobility) and Morris was a son of farmers. Really he was Norman's special friend, but tomboy Nora would rather have been fishing, spitting, and catching bugs with Norman and Morris than talking about dresses or future husbands with the other girls of the village.
